Reconstruction of the rail tracks at the Top Brake Head for the public interpretation of the site in its final days of operation.

The work required the supervision of 35 Department of Conservation personnel and 3 volunteers during the construction of the company track, donkey track and the middle track. Research into the track layout and operation allowed us to reconstruct the Brake Head trackage to as near as possible to final days of operation. The middle track required a two track into four track into three track set of points. The crowing of rail to best match the original photographs on the company and middle track.
